My roomate just made your apply crisp. It was DELICIOUS!!!! I poked around on your blog and you have some great advice with a very artistic way of showing what your teaching. Im going to add this to my favorites and try some other recipes you’ve got on here. Thanks so much for creating a blog so unique and artsy! 🙂
Wow, I totally love your illustrations! Makes cooking/baking look really fun, and inspires me vis a vis my own artistic pursuits. I think IKEA should hire you to replace their generally awful (& intimidating) drawn instructions for furniture assembly. Cheers 🙂
Wow I think your blog is fab — cooking and illustration — 2 things I love as well!!
Keep up the good work 🙂
This is a really nice take on food and illustration put together. I love the details and colours, which obviously reflects on culinary skills and lovely food ^_^
Would be great to have it as an actual recipe cook book. So much easier to follow than just having instructions!
I love your blog and your work! Really inspiring!
Congratulations on being “freshly pressed” . Love your blog and the illustrations. Very clever. Going to try some of the recipes too.
Great blog! It must take you some time to do each blog post –writing, drawing and embedding all this together in 1 composition. You should turn some of this stuff into an e-book.

Hi Grace! I draw everything with pen and then scan it into the computer and digitize it and add color. I mostly work with Adobe Illustrator
Oh right! Thanks for the reply! I’ll bear this in mind as I’d like to make my own illustrations look a bit more professional like yours do!

hi i was reading your recepie for the brioche but i think there is a mistak, you wrote about a cup of lukewarm water and then 1tbs of milk but then at steps
1. Combine the warm milk, honey, and yeast and let it stand until it’s foamy, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the olive oil, eggs and salt, and stir to blend.
Wehre is the water then??? because a tbs of milk for that amount of flour it doesn’t look to be enough. I wondering if has to be a cup of milk and 1tbs of water….thanks because i was thinking to bake them today hope you can answer me
You’re right! Thank you for catching that. It is one cup of lukewarm milk, not water. Then it’s one tbs of milk for the glaze. I’m just so used to starting breads with yeast and warm water, that I let habit take over. Thank you.
Hi Heather,
thank you too, I liked your recipe looks less complicated than thousand that i read, and i want to be sure i understood heehhe, sorry i hope my comment didn’t sound arsh 🙂 thanks…. I like your blog and your art….hope after your exhibition you will have time to write som more reipe 🙂
SO CUTE!
Hey there… I follow your blog and I think it’s absolutely fantastic! Just the idea of putting illustrations and your love of cooking together is great. Wish I could do illustrations like you coz I definitely love to cook, then I would also be able to put down recipes into pictures 🙂

I love your illustrations! How wonderful, this blog is great and I’m so glad I stumbled across it 🙂
Hope you had a delicious Christmas. I’m definitely following into the New Year, great stuff! Lovely dress too, where did you get it? 🙂
Really lovely blog with a wonderful illustration style & charming typography! There’s much heart in it!
Heather, I love your artwork. You are such a talented illustrator. I haven’t seen a salsa recipe before that requires the salsa to “ferment” on the counter, although the recipe I use does call for white vinegar to help preserve the salsa. Can you supply any links to research the reasons for the fermentation period?
I also believe that “Separation” might be a more appropriate spelling in the last sentence.
Thanks for sharing your work. I hope it’s okay to pin them to my Pinterest boards.
Whoops! Thanks for the spelling note, I’m fixing that right now. The fermentation process is to slightly pickle the peppers through lacto-fermentation. The salt kills bad bacteria and the lactobacillus bring out a slight tang in the flavor. I wrote about it awhile back https://illustratedbites.wordpress.com/?s=lacto+fermentation

Great work congradulation! It’s fun! Are you on etsi yet? I’d like to buy some posters.
Suggestion : you should draw a conversion chart IF we can buy it :-).
I’m not on Etsy yet. I’ve started a page but it’s a big commitment to start a new component to my business. It’s a major goal for 2013! Thanks for asking!

Hi there – I love your blog, and am going to find it very useful! I do have one request, though … Could you provide a clickable list of categories? I’m currently planning a veggie garden and it would be so handy to be able to access everything you have, say, on specific herbs or vegetables … and come fall I’m going to want to read everything you’ve written about preserving the harvest.
